Sources, provenance, and limitations
Structured public snapshot
The searchable baseline is the NCIC code set in NIEM 5.2, published in December 2022. Delivery JSON was generated by the MIT-licensed cityssm/node-ncic-lookup parser at commit 29bb85d. The deployed snapshot contains 33,053 values across 88 code sets.
Historical manuals
The archive contains user-supplied copies of historical NCIC code and operating manuals. They are presented as historical research material with first-page previews and stable PDF links.
Excluded material
The September 2024 AAMVA workbook was used only to understand code-set structure and validation requirements. Its records are not in the public database because the supplied registry classifies that source as authorized/private and not redistributable.
Important limitation
This independent tool is not affiliated with or endorsed by the FBI, NCIC, AAMVA, or NIEM. It neither accepts nor queries names, VINs, firearm serial numbers, or criminal-justice records.
